Newton's Method for Solving Inclusions Using Set-Valued Approximations

Results on stability of both local and global metric regularity under set-valued perturbations are presented. As an application, we study (super)linear convergence of a Newtontype iterative process for solving generalized equations. We investigate several iterative schemes such as the inexact Newton’s method, the nonsmooth Newton’s method for semismooth functions, the inexact proximal point alg...

Set-valued Lyapunov functions for difference inclusions

The paper relates set-valued Lyapunov functions to pointwise asymptotic stability in systems described by a difference inclusion. Pointwise asymptotic stability of a set is a property which requires that each point of the set be Lyapunov stable and that every solution to the inclusion, from a neighborhood of the set, be convergent and have the limit in the set. Weak set-valued Lyapunov function...

Fuzzy rough approximations for set-valued data

Rough set theory is one of important tools of soft computing, and rough approximations are the essential elements in rough set models. However, the existing fuzzy rough set model for set-valued data, which is directly constructed based on a kind of similarity relation, fail to explicitly define fuzzy rough approximations. To solve this issue, in this paper, we propose two types of fuzzy rough a...

Solving Coupled Composite Monotone Inclusions by Successive Fejér Approximations of their Kuhn-Tucker Set

Abstract. We propose a new class of primal-dual Fejér monotone algorithms for solving systems of composite monotone inclusions. Our construction is inspired by a framework used by Eckstein and Svaiter for the basic problem of finding a zero of the sum of two monotone operators. At each iteration, points in the graph of the monotone operators present in the model are used to construct a half-spa...

Gauss-Seidel method for multi-valued inclusions with Z mappings

We consider a problem of solution of a multi-valued inclusion on a cone segment. In the case where the underlying mapping possesses Z type properties we suggest an extension of Gauss-Seidel algorithms from nonlinear equations. We prove convergence of a modified double iteration process under rather mild additional assumptions. Some results of numerical experiments are also presented.
